Are there good places to eat near by?
Santa Teresa is a growing beach community that has welcomed a lot of new residents over the past ten years. Many families and individuals from all over the world have decided to make Santa Teresa their home and as such, there are a wide variety of restaurants in Santa Teresa that feature food from all over the world.
If you would like to eat like the locals, choose from a handful of Soda’s scattered throughout town (Soda’s are local Costa Rican eateries) or enjoy a delicious pastry at one of the local bakeries. If you are more interested in tasting delicious foods with an international flavour, Santa Teresa has many Italian restaurants, French restaurants, Argentina BBQ restaurants, Middle-Eastern restaurants, Sushi restaurants, upscale seafood restaurants, a Thai-fusion restaurant and even, a Taco stand.
Is the Blue Surf Sanctuary Hotel close to any local restaurants? Can we walk to any restaurants in Santa Teresa?
There are several wonderful restaurants within walking distance of our hotel. Soda Tiquicia is our favourite local Costa Rican restaurant and it is only about a ten-minute walk away. There are also several other restaurants within walking distance from our hotel including Nectar (Flor Blanca’s restaurant), Al Chile Viola, RocaMar and El Pulpo. If you decide to rent a car or an ATV, there are also many delightful restaurants in town that are definitely worth a try.
Do you have any restaurants in Santa Teresa that you can recommend?
Our favourite dinner restaurants in Santa Teresa are Brisas del Mar, Koshi’s, Alma, Nectar, Zula Restaurant and Ritmo Tropical. For places for casual dining or lunches are Soda Tiquicia, Burger Rancho, Chicken Joe’s and Product C at the Cruce. Our favorite spot for sunset cocktails is Vista del mar. There are so many good places to eat in Santa Teresa that I know that I am forgetting to mention so many! You’ll just have to come here to try them all.
Can your staff grocery shop for breakfast/lunch items for us ahead of our arrival?
Not at this time. There is a grocery store for your convenience only about 4 blocks away. If this is important to your stay please contact us to discuss.
How much do meals cost?
Santa Teresa has such diverse dining options that it is hard to set a price for any given meal. You can find anything from $5 casados at local Tico sodas to $30 entrees and everything in between. There is something for every taste and budget in our town, and in fact, Santa Teresa has become quite the destination for foodies.
What is the tipping etiquette in Costa Rica?
Most restaurants add a 10% tip to your bill. If you are unsure if it has already been added to your bill, it is always better to ask.
Do restaurants accept credit cards?
No, most of the restaurants in Santa Teresa do not accept credit cards. Please be sure to bring enough cash with you when you go out to eat at a restaurant. All of the restaurants in Santa Teresa will accept both local Colones and America Dollars.
